The advancements being made in contemporary dentistry occur at a pace that makes dental treatments possible .... that weren't even possible just a few years ago.

Gone are the days when patients were limited to routine extractions and common denture fittings for teeth that couldn't be repaired or replaced due to disease issues or financial reasons.

Specific advances in technologies and Dr. Marinic's investment in those technologies that have had the most impact on increasing choices, from one or two.... to several now enable our patients to custom design a Smart Denture that can be a perfect treatment option for replacing missing teeth.

Informed Decision for Smart Dentures

Inexpensive dentures, such as those available through popular Denture Clinics, for many patients, can be a suitable solution for some. Because of the limited availability of advanced diagnostic ability, patients don't really know if denture treatment will be successful until the dentures have been placed.

Jawbone abnormalities, weak jaw bone mass, excessive porosity (more common with older patients), gum tissue issues, unobserved hard and soft tissue loss, tissue sensitivity and complex bite and occlusion problems are common, yet insufficiently diagnosed problems that can be responsible for creating a miserable experience with denture treatment.

Unhappy versus Satisfied

Statistically, only 14-15% of denture wearers report a good experience with denture treatments (see our Dental Polls section). The most common problems are issues with loose fit, pain and just not feeling comfortable. Of course, speech and eating difficulties are also quite common.

Controlling - Eliminating Denture Surprises

Denture patients see, perhaps for the first time, the condition of all critical bone areas, bone porosity (yes, it can be seen with the naked eye), uneven jawbone, bone loss pockets due to old extractions and current, overall health of oral tissues.

The learning curve is brief and thorough. Selecting the right type of denture treatment, with or without specialized implants are now possible without the common fear of requesting treatment that is not needed or necessary.

Alterations to soft or hard tissues are made, based on what the patient wants in terms of what the perfect denture would be for them. Casual fit, tight fit, average or above average appearance, face lift dentures (face lifts are created through opening the bite), regaining the ability to eat certain types of foods and the ability to define how often the denture needs to be removed.
